off to the Czech Convention

From Friday September 11 to Sunday September 13 the Czech Bonsai conveniton 2009 will be held in Decin, which is in the very nord, just a few miles south of Dresden, Germany. I have the honor to be a headliner there doing demo, tree critiques, moderation and so on.
I will bring this spruce on stone for the exhibit. For the demo I will bring this crappy larch. The larch is difficult and we'll see what I can do.
I will report, of course, beginning Monday.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the larch -- looks challenging(!).

Walter,

The demo larch is terrible! But I'm sure you have reasons for choosing this particular crappy larch for the demo.

And I know something definitely will come out in the end with your skilled hands.

Eagerly awaiting your update on this soon.

In my personal opinion, this larch is not as crapy as one might think! Have seen "crapier" collected material on your blog mr. Walter:)

Lower part looks promising and that, besides a good nebari is all you need for shonin - it will probably look quite nice in 5 - 10 years time.
