After two vegetation periods the mugo pine has recovered very well and seems ready for serious styling. Needles were plucked and more than two thirds of the foliage was removed. What is left over is still a bit too much. But for health purposes this will be left and in about two years some more will be removed. In the end the snake wanted to become a cascade again. it will be potted into a crescent pot next spring and look quite dramatical. Or so I hope.
