Hallo Walther,

How do you define the date on a tree you find? Like on this tree and on the literati spruce David styled...

Is it 'the eye of experience' or just a estimated guess?

I would call it educated guess. One has to cut many dead trees apart and count the rings. Then one ets a feeling how old a tree could be. It does not matter much though. It is only interesting.
