European spruce #4

European spruce, Picea abies, collected in Austria in 1995. First image as of 2001. Finally I wired the whole tree again after carefully editing the crown. This style looks too dense on photographs. The light background is better, but it still looks too dense. In reality is is perfect - a transparent sculpture. What looks like a mess on the image looks like a very real tree in person.

Well done Walter! I do not think this tree is too full or has too much foliage. I think often people with mistake "too much foliage" for maturity. This tree is really just finally achieving the "Holy Grail" of bonsai...a mature natural looking tree. This takes time. There is no substitute. Well done.
