mugo pine #15 refurbished

the first images are from 2003. i looked quite good in 2005 already. Unfortunately it lost many branches afterwards and seemed to die. Now it is healthy again. I found that it has an incredibly narrow life line. The rest was carved and set to flames.

this is getting yet another jewel of a bonsai... better than impressive, looking at how it began its development

ps: from the anonymous who asked all the questions about age of rocky mountain junipers

Do you know the reason why the tree lost many branches ?

Well, it did not like to get styled I guess. Some trees are weak and you never knwo why. It almsot died for a couple of yeras. Then I threw two hand full of chicken manure at it and it started to live from thereon.

Thank you for your prompt answer. This should remind us (not you ;-) to wait the tree to be strong enough before styling (assuming this one ever wants to be strong enough)

The 3rd to last picture shows a real human form to it - with my eye - almost a martial arts look - first time I have noticed that in a bonsai.

How often do you throw the two handfulls of chicken manure at it?

Chicken manure twice a year. First beginning of May, second end of August.
One large handfull shold be enough. In paralell I feed with chemical ordinary plant fertilizer every ten days from end of March to middle of Ocotber.
