development of trident maple #1

As happy as I am wight this tree I still want to improve it. A bonsai can have won many awards and be world famous. But it still needs constant work to improve or stay at the same level at least. As one can see I edited the crown by cutting back a bit and cutting out some branches. Then I applied guy wires, lots of them. They do a function very well and quickly. The function is not to be beautiful. This will come when they get off in just about twelve months. Then it is supposed to look like no wire was ever applied and 'nature did it all'.
My aim here is to make this tree look wilder. It is just to tame, too nice, too much 'bonsai'. It will get a somewhat wild look within the next growing season.

Walter that trident is fantastic. I think you have much improved the look and think it will look great after the wires are taken off

Walter, seeing this tree always gives me immense pleasure, and I have no words to express what joy I feel deep inside.

It would be an even more amazing tree after the guy wires are taken off after a year. Hats off to you!
