New blog - WP videos

See this: WP videos

Here all videos will be collected which have to do with WP and bonsai and related.
I started with the ones made by Sebastijan Sandev. They are all in English without translation. This is why I call them 'English straight'.
many more will follow. There are about 30 to 50 videos about and with WP floating around. We'll see how many I get. Some are lousy, some are good.

Happy Thanksgiving

To all my American readers and possibly some outside America. Halloween never was a German holiday and now we have Halloween parties all over the place. Cultural pollution we call it. Well, Thanksgiving would be much nicer. It is a good time of the year for holidays anyway - nothing else to do. Trees are all in winter storage, the days are short and it is too cold to work outside. So one screws up the blog and other destructive things. To eat huge turkeys might be better. For the turkey industry for sure.

two large forests

1) Pinus cembra, cembra pine

2) European spruce, Picea abies

waiting for the BMW exhibit next spring.

Larch number 1

Thsi tree is made ready for the Noelanders Trophy. The crown was edited a bit, the deadwood completely cleaned and just a little bit of lime sulphur with ink applied.

Chinese elm

Chinese elm. Ulmus parvifolia, 65 cm high, pot by Derek Aspinall. Now, six years after the catastrophy (almost all branches died over winter) it looks better than ever. At the moment it is a bit too poodely though. I will have to get a bit more structure into the pads.

One more plug for the upcoming seminar in Harrisburg, Pa.

Good news: the seminars in Harrisburg will be integrated in the WP International Bonsai Academy.  We already have a sizable attendance secured. There will be so many that it will not take place in the normal room but in the new greenhouse. There we can host 50 or more folks. On that weekend Nature's Way Nursery will have their Christmas Open House. This means that you can expect to get bargains. It is possible to talk about all the collected trees there too. You could take them with you right away as Christmas gift for someone or yourself.
