ABOUT THE RETREAT
Scandinavian Bonsai Retreat is a small weekend workshop situated in the mountains of Dalarna, in the heart of Sweden. The weekend is dedicated to the passion for bonsai but also the nordic nature and friendship. It is a retreat far away from buzzling cities and is held in the quiet surroundings of the small city of Älvdalen. It is an ALL inclusive weekend (2 days and 2 nights) so that everything is taken care of by the hosts and everyone can just arrive to a set table.

Accomendation
We all stay 2 nights in heated 2 and 4 bed cabins on the beach of the river Österdalälven. It is possible to book more nights. Let us know ahead and we can help you out,

Workshop
From morning to afternoon on saturday and sunday we will be working on our own, or local trees from Thor Holvilas nursery. 2020 the workshop is held by Walter Pall assisted by Jennifer Price and Thomas Häring

Program
After arrival friday evening we will all eat around the fire and will be able to onload all stuff into the cabins. After breakfeast on saturday we will begin with critic on all trees and start the workshop. in the evening we meet again in the firehouse for food and hang out. After breakfast on sunday the workshop continues and ends with evaluating the process, result and future care and pot choice fo each students tree/trees. In the evening there will be a dinner out together. (optional)

Food
We all have breakfast and lunch at the hall, and dinner is served in the evening at the firehouse by the river. All food is catered by a local restaurant that specialize in local dishes. There will be altenatives for people with allergies or that wishes vegan food. Coffee, tea, softdrinks and fruit will be available at all times.

How to get there
Älvdalen is situated 250 km from Arlanda/Stockholm (3-4 hours drive). Trains leav by the hour from Arlanda airport (ARN) and pick up at the trainstation in Mora is possible.
