The old needles were plucked and the tree looked very dense. In fact, I cannot remember ever having seen a mugo pine that dense. So about 30 % of the branches were removed. then the tree was wired. It took me more than two days. Now it still looks dense on the photographs. On the one with the white background one can see that it is OK. With the black background it seems too dense, which it isn't quite in reality. Anyway, this is one of my most advanced mugo pines and I am very happy. Last image as of 1993 when I got it. It was collected in Switzerland in 1992.
