Was that patch of glaze on the left an accident or is it meant to be that way?

You mean the glaze of the pot on the left? This my well be an accident. Fact is that such accidents often make pots unique and worth MORE! I like it.
Well, I wouldn't say often. From time to time maybe. Anyway, in this case I'm not "convinced".
