Field maple #4
Field maple, Acer campestre, collected in Austria in 1996 (first image). Originally it was supposed to become a high, rather traditional tree. But then the main part of the crown died and the maple seemed worthless. So I decided to do something quite unusual. The tree is now in the fairy tale style, looking like a very old spooky tree that has no idea what bonsai is. It is meant to be looked at without foliage in the winter silhouette. Now it looks like a fire ball, but spectacular
