European spruce #73

This is a next generation spruce. I must have something to do in the next ten years.

Very nice spruce material. Collected last year and already repotted? Did you clear out the old soil already too?

That`s the main reason to do this.

I only ask because I have generally seen people giving the trees a 2 or 3 year recovery period after the initial dig before a repot and soil clean. You regularly do this by the second season?

If possibvle, yes. Possible it is when the tree looks quite healthy with lots ofg buds for next year.

When is the best time to repot spruce? I have one that has been in a 40 gal pot for the last 10 years, I live in Monterey bay, mild winters. Should I repot this fall? I pinched growth in spring and the Tree set many buds again...some have opened.
Thanks, Adam

In Central Europe it is late summer, like middle of August. In Monterey it should be six weeks later, like NOW.
