Rowan #1

Rowan, Sorbus aucuparia, collected in Germany in 2006, first images of 2008, pot China, this is in the Fairy Tale Bonsai Style. In the end the moss is NOT removed for the hollow trunk. It adds to the spooky image. Yes, the wood will eventually rot under the moss. So what! This will be a great hollow tree one day.

Walter,

I have a few large Amur maples that I roughly shaped by cutting off some of the larger trunks and branches. And then I let the. Rot naturally. I'm in the process of removing the soft pun ky wood and preserving. I'm wondering how this one turned out for you? How you treated the hollow?

I don't treat the hollow, nature does. One day it will be a huge hollow.
