oriental hornbeam #43

Oriental hornbeam, Carpinus orientalis, collected in Croatia in 2010, in bonsai pot finally, promising stump.

Walter. Looks like a great stump indeed.

My only question is, why have you chosen to put it into a bonsai pot at this stage of development? I would have thought the extra growth of a nursery pot would have helped develop the primary branch structure quicker. I still feel relatively new to bonsai so forgive me if this is a basic question.

Nick,

this species will grow very fast anyway.
