new spruce

European spruce, Picea abies, from 1,800 m above seal level. It is amazing how yellow they are up there. I hope to get them very green soon.

Wonderfull material! How do you get spruce to back bud? Do you prune like you would a pine, or do you have another method?

Ingvar,

it is the same with all trees: make them very happy, very vigorous by planting into modern substrate, watering plenty often, full sun, feeding very much, lots of nitrogen. And the spruce will grow well and bud everyhwere. No backbudding needed on these trees by the way. They just have to become healthy. The green already is where it is supposed to be.
