mugo pine with snow

I had this on the bench overnight to make images in sunshine. It snowed a bit and here we are. The pine is coming very nicely. I think this will go onto a couple of exhibits this year.

A very nice variation of a traditional informal upright design. In the traditional design the upper portion of the tree would be along the line of the curve giving the impression of a monk bending in reverence.

In this design however the curve in the trunk takes another turn in the opposite direction towards the apex portion. This gives the image of a victorious army general standing with his chest up in pride over a conquest.
