Walter Pall's main blog about bonsai and his work with trees from day to day. Lots of good pictures of good trees and lots of valuable information about bonsai.
one should ONLY defoliate a vey strong tree. A recently repotted tree in general is not strong enough for defoliation. I only defoliate a tree in the refinement stage. Before that it should grow.

Hi Walter
Do you defoliate the same year as repotting or wait another year?
Is defoliation only for developed trees or can trees in training also benefit from it?

Hi Walter
One very serious question: are you choosing the day for particular work (collecting, defoliating, repotting)according to the moon calendar ?
Have a nice day.
Marko
Marko,
absolutel not. I think this is nonsense. But if it makes you happy, fine with me.
