two lilacs
Syringa vulgaris, ordinary garden lilac, each 85 years old, 70 cm high
Hy Walter Nice tree. I bought an old syringa from a nursery 2,50 mt tall full of flowers. I want to reduce it drasticly. does it spruce from old wood? May I do it, or make cuts always leaving a bloom ? Thanks for your reply Fernanda

Fernada,
lilacs sprouts very readily form old wood. You can stump it back as far as you like. it will take some years before these new branches carry flowers.
