Oriental hornbeam #39

Oriental hornbeam, Carpinus orientalis, collected in Croatia in 2012, pot by Derek Aspinall. This one is coming along nicely after having be#en repotted this spring. The fine branches will all be wired next spring.

Very nice!

I'm quite jealous of these, I collected a very big C. Betulus this spring and I must have not collected enough fine roots because the cambium is receding and I am sure the tree is dead, I know they are not as hardy as C. Orientalis; this makes me very sad and feel like a complete beginner. The Beech I collected a year ago on the other hand is growing great!

Kind regards,

Thomas
