European beech

I am quite happy whith this European beech, Fagus sylvatica. It is in the naturalistic style. Which leads some visitors to ask when I will start to style this good material. Well, I tell them I have been working on this for fifteen years to make look like wild material. They question my intelligence. Good for them!

Dear Walter,

I am in awe of this tree. I have long desired to attempt to recreate the natural habit of beech trees in bonsai (when I can find or grow the right material... a very long term project, but something to aspire to), their form is beautiful and I am glad there are inovators such as you breaking the convention of a single trunk line following right to the apex. This is how real deciduous tree grow.

Regards,
Matt

(incidentally I have just posted photographs of seven beech trees aken in parkland not far from my home http://wylderwood.blogspot.com/2009/01/seven-sisters.html)
