huge mugo

This huge mugo pine was on the workbench recently. I took off the bark from obviously dead parts. Thsi is quite promising, but just too big for me. So I put it to "offers", which means ist is for sale or trade.

mugo #12 resurrected

In spring of 2005 I styled this mugo pine and had the idea to place it onto this pot which was custom made for me by William Vlaanderen. As usually I was in a hurry and did it right away. You can see the the result looked quite promising. Well, the pine did not like the treatment at all and refused to cooperate afterwards. Most lower branches died and the whole thing was totally ruined. I was ready to bury it. In spring of 2008 vigor came back though. It looked healthy enough to work on it again. Now it has a second life an it is almost as good as the first one.

In the fall of 2006 I acquired this wonderufl old spruce. it had been collected in 2004 in Austria. Together with Jim Doyle we planted it into the pot by Horst Heinzlreiter.

During the past couple of days I worked on this old Europena spruce, Picea abies. Two vegetation perionds after planting it into this great pot by Horst Heinzlreiter it seemed very healthy and ready for the big stlying. Since it is so vigorous I decided to do it all in one step.
