Walter Pall's main blog about bonsai and his work with trees from day to day. Lots of good pictures of good trees and lots of valuable information about bonsai.
Are the top and bottom photographs of the current status? I'm asking because it seems that there is a stage in between where it seems that the ramification is much more defined as in those two.
Sure, the tree was much better ramified a couple years ago. It had become much too wide though. So I cut it back drastically and now I am starting ramification again. Such is bonsai. It is not a steady constant stream.
Hello Mr. Pall,Beautiful Linden! Will you let the bottom branches grow out long to thicken them?I am now looking forward to the snow!Kind Regards,Thomas
No, there is no need to thicken them. Only in the bonsai book the lowest branches are the thickest. In the real world this often is not so.
