Walter Pall's main blog about bonsai and his work with trees from day to day. Lots of good pictures of good trees and lots of valuable information about bonsai.
Hi WalterDo the c. orientalis resist the frost? Or do they have the problems in winter like acer buergerianum?greets Thomas
Thomas, they are a little more hardy than trident maples. They need some frost protection, especially against late frosts.
what is the height of the tree. Looks fairly small.-Dave
Dave, this is indeed a small tree, only 35 to 40 cm high. Due to the very small leaf size oriental hornbeams are some of the best species for this size bonsai.
