Japanese maple #1 winter silhouette

As one can see I do not consider this tree 'finished'. It has been worked on for probably 50 years by now. And I continue to do so. The better is the enemy of the good. Good is not good enough. Very good is not good enough. Most outstanding is the aim. If it ever can be reached. Well, I try at least. I sacrifice momentary beauty for future quality. As one can see I don't care whether these guy wires are ugly. Sure they are, but they serve their purpose very well.
