Dear Mr. Pall:

The photos of Fagus sylvatica collected from the edge of a forest were very unusual.

What created these numerous, highly ramified, beech trees?

Please excuse......in Chicago Illinois no one has ever seen a beech tree.

Best regards,

Daniel Dolan

Daniel, these beeches were deer bitten. This is typical in many European forests. The deer are great creators of bonsai material.
