Bougainvillea in winter
Most folks have bougies just for the flowers. And too many are not good as bonsai really. This one is almost better in winter, I think.

A very good bougie bonsai indeed. What color flower will it bear?
I love bougies; do you have more in your collection?
this is the wild form with violet flowrs. I have only this one in my collection. Germany is a very bad place for bougainvilleas. I only have this because I got it in a trade for almost nothing about 13 years ago.
no, no greenhouse, It gets well below freezing in there in winter. I put the tree into the house altogether. In a cool room with good light the mediterranean plants ovewinter well. But there is limited space, of course.

Walter,
Yes, your climate will be too cold for bougies. Even then this bonsai is fantastic.
Do you put it in a green house during winters?
