HI EVERYONE! This is Dales' wife Nancy. I wanted to let you know that Dale had a very serious accident tonite. He fell about 20ft. off a ladder while trimming a branch off one of the large trees in the garden. He has 4 fractured vertebra in his low back, 5 broken ribs and internal bleeding. He is in intensive care at Akron General Medical Ctr. He is able to talk and move his arms and legs but they are very worried about the bleeding in his abdomen. I will try to keep you posted about his condition. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you, Nancy Bodine Cochoy

My Rocky Mountain Junipers were much further already. Then, three years ago in spring they got a fungus which killed more than 50 % of the foliage. Last year again. I learned to apply a strong dose of copper. It helped somehow. This year again they lost some foliage. Now they seem to settle. I will have to restyle them again at the end of summer. All fine foliage needs to get wired.

In spring of 2013 all the wire goes off. Then the tree is planted into the final pot. And then it should be ready for any show in May.

The contest objective is to obtain stock and style it into a presentable bonsai within the time frame allotted by the rules below. There is no price limit on stock.
Each entry will consist of three parts containing the following as outlined in the rules below:

• Three “before” photographs submitted with accompanying descriptive text, as outlined in the rules below.
• Three progression photographs submitted with accompanying descriptive text, as outlined in the rules below.
• Three final photographs submitted with accompanying descriptive text as outlined in the rules below.

You need not be a member of the ofBonsai Magazine to enter. This contest, like all of the content on ofBonsai, is free, viewable, and open to all who are interested. Those that wish to participate in discussions on the contest or other topics on the forum will be required to join in order to comment.
Please read all rules before submitting your entry and refer back to them before submitting your before, progression, or final photographs in order to prevent misunderstandings or needless disqualification. Most of all enjoy yourselves and have fun!
Entrants may enter as often as they like, providing each entry is of a different tree and abides by the rules of this contest.
