some results of hornbeam fun
All these are oriental hornbeams, Carpinus orientalis. Is is so much fun to work with this species because they have so much inherent character and it is possible to see good results very quickly.

Hi Walter,
Looks like you all had a fine time working with those hornbeams. What excellent material. What do you feel are the differences between the Carpinus orientalis that you have available and the Carpinus caroliniana that we have available here in Virginia. I am gaining a real appreciation for hornbeam material of all types and enjoy working with them.

Steve,
I think it is not quite as good as C. carolinea, but yours is still a very good species for bonsai. I think it is way underestimated.
